Thunder snow! Thinking of STJ...

Post by Caw954s »

It's snowing to beat the band outside my Kansas City home right now...it's even thundering and lightening out there, snowfall totals are expected to be about 12 inches(they got that wrong, just came in from trying to shovel and there's already a foot of snow and its going to snow all day into the night...ugh!), which is unusual for this area and everything is closed. I do like the snow and will head out and do a little cross country skiing this afternoon...but I am looking at my STJ pics, cruising on this forum, and I'd rather be snorkeling at salt pond!! That sounds like a great bumper sticker...

This storm is heading northeast, so I hope and pray it doesn't interfere with any forumites vacation plans....

We are in Kansas City area as well. Just got back from a cold weekend in Florida (which was a total bummer) and now home to cold and a bunch of snow! Our son is happy though been making snow ice cream and freezing snow to save for summer batches. He loves that. Can't wait to book our next trip. Maybe this snow will be the push that we need!! :D

I bet you have fantastic weather next week! It was great right before we got there and right after we left.

Hope you had fun Cross Country skiing. Never tried that. Snow shoeing and that was tough! Though I had a 101 fever at the time. My whole body was aching anyway.

DH has been dealing with a work crisis all day so I have not been able to get him thinking of St. John today. There is always tomorrow.....

Hello Caw954s & momto3boys!

Another Kansas City forumite here! Yes all this snow has me really wishing June would get here! We had quite a bit melt today, of course it will freeze now overnight and they say 6-10 more inches coming Monday night. :(

Keep thinking about STJ to keep you warm!

UGH! I have not been keeping up with the forecasts. I hope they are wrong. I am so ready for Spring!

More than anything I am jealous of your ticker!

Hello Caw954s & momto3boys!

It started snowing here around 4 pm then turned to drizzling rain. :(
That means it will be ice under all the snow expected overnight.
Schools are closed for tomorrow. Teenage son was happy to earn some money last Friday clearing 8 driveways...he is already looking forward to a repeat tomorrow! :)

Stay safe, warm and plan a trip to St. John! :)

Hello Jo and Caw954,

You stay safe and warm as well. It is really blowing out there this morning. Though my Husband went in to work this morning. They put alot of guys up in a local hotel lastnight and he may have to go and get some of them as well. Ugh! My 9 year old son will be home driving me nuts. Everyday that he misses means another day added to the end of the school year. Now he goes till May 29th.

Jo,
I wish your son lived near us. We would hire him. Not one teenager was out here looking for work last storm that I saw. We have a snow blower but my Husband says it is a sissy one. It really struggled with the last snow fall.

We are planning our trip. In fact he tried to call about it yesterday. He kept getting a busy signal. They gave him a second # and the same thing. He asked them to try and call him but they didn't. So not sure if we will get booked or not. With all of the scams going on with VRBO it makes me somewhat nervous. I think I will restart a search today just in case this one falls through.
