BVI..Baths..Soggy Dollar Trip

Post by dutchguy233 »

Currently on the island and looking to do a day trip to BVI..Baths...Soggy Dollar. I see several companies offering these trips and could anyone give me a suggestion of one that they have used and had no issues and provided great service. Thanks for your assistance.

Are you looking for a private charter? If so, Isle-mon for up to 6 and born to rhumb for more than 6. Also, if you go into Connections they can book a trip for you.

Last year we took a day trip with Captain John at Island Roots ( http://www.islandrootsusvi.com ) just around St John for snorkeling, but have already booked him for a BVI trip for our upcoming vacation. He's a lot of fun, and super easy to work with. Check out his website for BVI details :-)

I know a lot of folks here also like Captain John from Palm Tree Charters, I have no experience with him personally.

We did the JVD trip a couple of Junes ago with Cruz Bay Watersports and it was awesome. They picked us up at the Westin in the AM, sailed out to Lovango Cay for snorkeling, and then to JVD. We went to Foxy's first and then sailed around the other side of the island to White Bay where Soggy Dollar is located. Catamaran was very large and clean. Drinks were flowing, music was blaring. Good time. They even took our food order prior to arriving at Foxy's so it was ready for us when we got onshore. The grouper was amazing. We had my 2 year old daughter with us and even she had fun. So, it's not so much of a booze cruise but certainly could be if you wanted. They even gave her a raft with a see through window so she could snorkel with us! Going down this July and will book them again!

I've gone out with Palm Tree three times and have a fourth trip booked with him. He is amazing and I highly recommend him. I have met Captain John of Island Roots and he also seems great, although I have not gone out with him.

As of last summer, John Brandi of Palm Tree Charters doesn't offer the Bath's as a destination. It's probably worth checking directly with him to see if that information is still correct.

But if you want a trip to Norman Island, the western side of Tortola, and Jost Van Dyke, they do an awesome job and I highly recommend them!

Taking a day trip to Jose Van Dyke? You got to use the Kekoa! Hands down the best excursion I've taken.
Kekoa stops at a couple of spots before it ends up in White Bay at Soggy Dollar. You won't be disappointed.

Some pictures of my trips on Kekoa on my blog.

enjoy!

The Kekoa used to be the Allure back in the day. We used them in 2005. I think they sold that boat, got out of the sailing game for a bit and decided to build another one...what I heard. Either way, their excursion was pretty awesome too. But in my opinion, gimme a few beers, a boat that floats, and crystal clear water and I don't care what excursion it is!!
