Maison Miele villa?

Post by sherban »

Hello All- Planning a trip in June and looking at Maison Miele villa in coral bay as a possibility, it's very different than the others we are looking at (on water's edge, rather than on top of a mountain)...
Does anyone have first hand knowlege of this villa they could share?

Thanks!

I have looked at this Villa many times , love the windows and view from living room. I always move on to something else because main house has no air , only air in Cottage bedroom . I could do without air with higher up properties but sea level seems like it would be hot.

We have stayed at Maison Miele four times in the past; three times in April and once in mid-May. I love, love, love the house. It is private and the view of the water from every room in the house is amazing. My husband and I still feel a very special connection to that house.

With that said, our annual visit St. John is now in June due to our dog sitter's schedule. After our trip in mid-May, I could not fathom being in Maison past April with no A/C. Since it is just the two of us, it is ridiculous to pay full price for the house and the cottage just to get A/C. I think the previous house manager might have had a willingness to cut a deal with us but it is now managed by Windspree. I also read a recent review that the house was not clean. That is heartbreaking given it was built specifically for a woman with chemical/environmental allergies and it was always spotless on our visits.

Any other time of the year but Summer, I highly recommend this house as an experience like no other!

I hesitate to offer an opinion on a house I haven't visited/rented but Maison Miele has been on my list for a couple of years. Last time I looked into it, a fellow forum member advised me that in addition to the above, the furnishings were worn, dated and in definate need of replacement considering the cost of the house.

The furnishings are older and not as posh as other villas; however, the beds are extremely comfortable and the linens are of good quality. The range and dishwasher are in need of replacement but the fridge was new last time we were there.

Again, this house is all about the views and the gardens - the house does not distract from the beauty of the surroundings. It is funny, my husband complains about too much "fru fru" in the villas we have stayed in since :D

We stayed at the villa next door a few years back and the views/location are really beautiful. Also, it is very close to the The Tourist Trap - definitely a bonus!
