Can I make a 8:15 am flight??

Post by PaminMaine »

I am thinking about purchasing tickets.. ( finally!) Can I make an 8:15 am flight if I take the 6 a.m. ferry on a Sunday? ( march 24th, not a holiday?)

I am nervous I would be cutting it close!

Really, really, really tight - if carry on luggage only and you have already checked in MAYBE - I have been on the 6am ferry and arrived at the airport as early as 7am and as late as 7:20am. Personally I wouldn't do it - I have made an 8:35am flight and I felt anxious the whole time.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking that it was cuttting it too close. I was having wishful thinking that "if" I booked Rachel I could squeeze by. We only do carry on as well. Each year I take less and less clothing!

Agree with everyone else.
Timing is just too tight.

We looked briefly at an 8:50am flight and that seemed too tight for us so I can't imagine trying to make an 8:15.

Besides, why stress yourself...plenty of time for that when you actually do get home, whatever time that happens to be

One thing that has not come up yet is staying on STT that last night.

Hi Jim - Happy New Year!

That's what I would do. It would completely take the pressure off the STJ departure - you could take an evening ferry after a relaxing dinner, and have much less to do the next morning.

Thanks I was thinking about staying on STT for my last day as well. I am not sure if I can cancel 1 day of my stay or not. Playing with some other options as well... Getting close, have to purchase tickets soooon !!

Might not work for you but how about instead of canceling 1 day, extend 1 day. Stay on SJ till you need to check out/return jeep, spend a leisurely afternoon in either SJ or ST, find a place to stay in ST close to the airport (lots of posts on this or other can offer advice for best place to stay) and leave the next morning.

I'd hate to end my time of relaxing by stressing about getting to the airport on time for early AM flight.

I just booked my flight. I ended up booking a hacker fare from Kayak. I chose to do an overnight in Atlanta on our way home, with a 6 am flight the following morning to Boston arriving at 9am.. Priced a hotel at Atlanta airport under $70.... Airfare total for 2 from March 14-25th- $760 ! Yippeeee !! :D :D :D
