Ok, Here are a few we went to a couple weeks ago:

HIghTide: We went here 6 or 7 times during the 2 weeks we were on STJ. Everything we had was good. Conch Fritters were very good. Probably the best we tasted this year. The Terryaki Marinated steak was really good. Service was great all but 1 time. Prices were very reasonable.

Uncle Joe's BBQ: Candi's was closed the 2 weeks we were there, so we went to Joe's a few times. It was always very good, as usual.

Jakes: We went to Jakes one time for Lunch. Both meals were ok. Nothing spectacular that I can remember, but good solid food.

Hercules Pate: Always locals there eating, so we tried it. I love Pates so every time I passed by I would get one or two to snack on. They were good and they were always serving plates of local food. Very nice people!

Driftwood David's: The sign out front says: "Best Burgers and Ribs". We decided to try and the burger was good, but those ribs are the best I have EVER eaten. They really do slow cook them all day. They are perfect!

Morgan's Mango: The food was very good, but something about this location makes it VERY hot. We had to get a to-go box and leave it was so hot in there.

La Plancha Del mar: The food was good, but not quite as goos as last year. Nothing bad, but not as spectacular as we remembered.

Spyglass: The happy hour tacos were ok, but the sliders were not something we would try again. We did eat here for dinner one night and the specials they offered were very good! I was surprised how good the meal was. There was only 1 server, Eva, and she was a bit overwhelmed. She did good considering how many people she had to juggle. (Low point of our trip was listening to another table complain and say mean things when Eva was in the kitchen. Some people should not go to STJ....)

Beach Bar: Everything was great and very fast!

Cafe Livin: This place was really good. Everything was like a home-cooked meal. We ate there several time for lunch or dinner. Very affordable!

Woodys: Great Burgers and conch Fritters.

Iguana Grill: OK, nothing to write home about.

I think that is it since many places were closed for low-season. If I think of anywhere else, I'll add it.

I've gotten bad about leaving restaurant reviews over the past few years for some reason. Here is some brief feedback from my July trip:

Shipwreck Landing: good fish sandwiches. Favorite dish: curry-nut crusted grouper. We ate here three times last trip if that tells you something.

Miss Lucy's: love the waterfront setting and the roaming chickens. Favorite dishes: West Indian provision plate. and crunchy fish sandwich. Demerits from the kids for not serving dessert at lunchtime.

Ocean Grill: food was only OK, but kids loved their desserts. We went back on another occasion for just desserts for the kids and drinks for the grownups and they had no problem seating us at a table. Friendly service.

Caneel Bay Beach Terrace. Yes it is pricy but I think the food is quite good and the portions are large enough to share. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but since we were spending the day at Caneel/Honeymoon and then going out with Sail Caneel Bay that evening it made sense to eat there. I was pleased overall. Service is always polite at Caneel, in my opinion.

Sam and Jack's Deli: very good sandwiches, salads, etc. Favorites are the pesto pasta salad with olives, the Uncle Peep sandwich and the antipasto salad, the guys enjoyed the Godfather. They also sell deli meats, cheeses, and pizza dough all of which we bought for villa/beach meals. I give this place the edge over Deli Grotto. Cash only.

Deli Grotto: I really like the fillings in their sandwiches, but I am not a huge fan of the bread. It's too thick for my taste. Favorites are the vegetarian Greek sandwich and the Trunk Bay chicken. Kids love the infamous "crack bar." Cash only.

Waterfront Bistro: cannot beat the setting, a little pricy but the food is usually quite good. Favorites are the nicoise salad and the fish tacos. I think we ate here twice last trip.

Banana Deck: casual, huge salads, burgers, etc. Just basic stuff but all fresh and good, plus not expensive.

I am probably forgetting a couple other places from last time. We didn't get to any of my top three places this past trip (Zozos, La Tapa, Fatty Crab) because we had kids with us. I am sure we'll get there this winter when it's just John and me visiting.

Anyone hear why Cactus on the Blue closed down? That place was good and the owner was very cool to chat with.

I think I read somewhere that they shut down to repair/ replace the roof but now it is reopening as a high end restaurant. We ate at COTB last year and enjoyed it.

We were there in early Sept. and many places were closed.

Deli Grotto - always tasty, good iced coffee. Would stop there in the morning and pick up coffee and a sandwich for lunch. One morning they had fresh, warm from the oven blueberry scones that were amazing!

Sam & Jacks - also tasty sandwiches. Their ice cream is ridiculous! Bought some ravioli and cooked it at home one night. All in all a good choice.

Morgans Mango - probably the biggest surprise because I haven't been a huge fan of theirs in years past. It was amazing this time! Great salad and empanada. And I still dream of their bushwacker!

La Plancha - still one of my very favorites! Went there the night of my birthday and it does not disappoint! Great service, great food, great view...what's not to love?!

Sun Dog - a long time favorite. Good for appetizers and drinks.

Zero Sushi - this is what replaced Happy Fish and is by the Starfish Market. Owned by the La Plancha guys. Good but wasn't overwhelmed. Sad to see it was only us and another couple there for dinner, but then again it was September. Not sure we'd go out of our way though (and we're huge sushi lovers!).
