Camera on a pole.

Post by P-600 »

Today we noticed two different people with under water cameras on poles. One person was just getting to the beach but the other was filming while we were all dodging the rain at Hawksnest. Do you know what they were using and why?

Couple of thoughts, buy putting the camera out in front of you, you can create a smoother movement for the video camera and minimize the surface wave action, also may enable you to get closer to schools of fish and or put the camera deeper in the water than just arms length snorkel distance. just a couple of guesses.

I though it would be for snorkeling and getting close up pictures. Guess it's the new thing! Might be a great Christmas gift for all you photographers out there!

That's interesting because I have a pole but never thought of using it in the water that way. Since it doesn't take much space, maybe I'll bring it and see how that works. Plus I can probably stick it in the sand and then take pictures of hubby and I as we never seem to get any pictures of us on the beach.
One more week.....I can't stand the wait before a vacation...
