First day back...wish I could walk into Cruz Bay for a drink
First day back...wish I could walk into Cruz Bay for a drink
After my first full day back in the office
, I sure could use a lime & coconut from Banana Deck (choice #1) or Beach Bar (choice #2).
We were suppose to be the Philly flight that got cancelled on Sunday afternoon. But we've been stuck in a airport or on the plane long enough to know when to bail.
After 3 hours at the ticket counter outside of customs, we ended up getting on a Tuesday flight, schleping our stuff back over to St. John and checking back into Gallows Point. It was the right move based on another post of the horrors of getting home on Sunday via Philly. Will post a trip report later this week along with photos.
Enjoyed meeting everyone at the Beach Bar last Friday night! Hope ya'll who are still there are having some better weather...we got on a private water taxi Tuesday a.m. during that torrential downpour! It did make for some wicked cool waterfalls in the guts though!

If you don't take risks, you'll have a wasted soul.

Tina,
After a lesson learned the hard way, we now when "to bail" also. We spent a long hot day in the airport at Montego Bay trying to get out after the airport closed on our departure day due to Hurricane Emily. We went and found ourselves a new "hurricane shelter" as my husband called it. We ended up staying 2 extra days in MB as we didn't want to go all the way back to Negril with the airport situation being dicey. Words probably can't describe how much I wanted a cold adult beverage after that day.

Going "home" again October 26th!
