2 days in the BVI
2 days in the BVI
We've been going to STJ for 15 years and have taken the occasional day sail over to Jost and enjoyed it. This year we thought we'd spend a couple nights somewhere in the BVI for a change. Where we are staying is going to get a little bit busy on our second week and we thought a couple nights away might be a nice. A sort of vacation from our vacation. Looking for suggestions for locations and places to stay around the first week of April.

We stayed two nights at The Perfect Pineapple on Jost on our last trip. It's nothing fancy - clean and well located (just up the hill from Soggy Dollar). While Soggy Dollar is a big party from noon - 3 pm, it's extremely quiet and relaxing in the morning and after all of the day sails/charters leave. I highly recommend.

We spent 2 nights on Jost a few years ago and stayed at Seacrest by Foxy's. It's a great place. This time we're doing 3 nights after a week on STJ. Again staying at Seacrest. The slow pace on Jost sends you into another relaxation zone!

Jost might be a bit limited for two nights. Have you been to Tortola or Virgin Gorda? Tortola pluses: easy to get to, affordable accommodations, great hiking on Sage Mountain, plenty to explore. Minuses: years of trying hard to turn into St Thomas-- but it does still have many unique and pleasant spots. Virgin Gorda pluses: Great exploring, hiking,(you can go to the Bathes in the AM before anyone else if you're staying there) beautiful island with a ton to do, still pretty laid back and safe. Minuses: Hardish to get to, cheaper places to stay not very comfy. But...if you go on a Thursday or Sunday , there's a ferry from St John, and coming back through Tortola isn't too bad if you time it right. Some great moderate-priced accommodations, like Guavaberry Spring Bay.
