Day Six - Drum Roll Please - The Boat Trip!

Post by pswlrw »

We awaken on Friday to beautiful blue skies. We gather for coffee and head out to Cruz Bay. Find a parking spot right at the dock and the Born to Rhumb is waiting for us so we climb on board and we are on our way!

We head to Roadtown to clear customs. There is a bit of a chop and everyone is loving getting sprayed!! Stop at a bakery for a muffin, stop in a shop or two and get back on board. Saw this ship in the harbor, not sure what the story is, but it looks cool.

First stop was Pelicans Cove, which is on the back side of the Indians. We were the only boat there and the group snorkeled there for about an hour. Sightings of barracuda, eel and squid. My cousin dove down toward the squid and one released a puff of ink! Pretty cool stuff.

Now it's off to Foxy's for lunch. First mate Andy passed around a menu and we called in our order. I thought the food here was really good. Grilled chicken sandwiches and the fried grouper sandwich were huge hits. We enjoyed chillin on Foxy's little beach and my cousin and Taboo really hit it off.

Next stop -my favorite place on the planet. Sandy Spit!! First mate Andy loaded up the cooler with Painkillers and we hit the beach. We spent at least an hour here and I just couldn't have been any happier.

Now it's off to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Ahh, painkillers in the hammock.

Time to head back to St. John. On the ride back the spray behind the boat was creating mini rainbows and I was giggling with glee everytime!! Happy, happy, happy.

We head back to the villa for a mellow evening, cooking up everything left in the fridge. Great moon tonight, and we spent some quality time by the pool watching the moon move in and out of the clouds. Just a great day.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

A replica of one of Christopher Columbus’s ships dropped anchor in Road Harbour on Tuesday afternoon, marking the end of the fifth leg of its maiden voyage. On board, the atmosphere was one of relief as boat owners Morgan and A. J. Sanger and the four crew members dropped the sails and secured the boat in the harbour, where it will be based until mid-May.
