Choosing the best beach depending on weather???

Post by bdkane »

Hi All, other that physically going to a beach, what is the rule of thumb to determine if the North Shore beaches or South Shore Beaches will be more desirable weather wise on any particular day? - does that make sense :?

If it is raining on the North Shore try the South Shore.
Weather on the other side of the island is usually different.

If you friend, "Palm Tree Charters" on facebook, Capt. John gives a great forecast each morning.
Also, if you can look out and see surrounding islands, watch if the waves are slamming hard against a particular side of the island.

Those were two things I used in January to determine which beach we would head to each day. Of course, these were not without flaw..... so sometimes we would have to switch spots.

Wind speed and direction will be determining factors. After a heavy rain go to Waterlemon. 3-day storm or huricane, Pool Beach.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

If there are north swells, head to the south shore.

Also second liking "Palm Tree Charters" on Facebook. We never left our villa until we got a report from Captain Brandi. Lucky for us he is an early poster.
