I'd love to have someone explain to me about the 'Gate'. We pulled in there and parked... looked... and it was closed. So we figured to go away. No?

Jeff and Cindy, you can open the gate and go down.

The gate itself is always closed but there is a smaller opening about the size of a door that you can go through. Normally that's open but maybe someone closed it when they left the beach. Someone can pipe in to confirm but I think the property is public (gifted to the people of STJ) so I don't think it can be locked up.

Lindy is correct.
The sign that says don't block the gate means don't 'completely' block the gate. There is room for 3-4 cars on the left side of the gate.
Also, the gate has been replaced since last year. It is black aluminum and says Oppenheimer Beach in the scroll work at the top. It currently looks very nice.
Leap, and the net will appear.

ok guys, exactly where is Gibney and the gate? If those few parking spaces are taken, is there any other place to park? Would love to check it out when we visit in June. Many thanks, cheers!
