Trip Report 5/2-5/9 Part 7

Post by Creative Name »

Last full day.

Today we wanted to go to Annaberg to revisit where we were married. It was hot here, but no rain today so we soaked up all the sunshine!

It was so good to see Annaberg again in person. It has so much sad history, but it also feels so peaceful and it means so much to us.

Next, we went to Honeymoon. This was the first beach we stepped on in St. John on our first trip. It was empty at the time, we spent hours there. This time, not so much. Many boats were moored. These boats all had snorkelers. Then, a walking tour showed up to snorkel too! We decided to go have lunch at Caneel’s beach bar and head to Hawksnest again. It was fairly busy but had way less snorkel traffic which was great.

So, despite writing some of these reports on island, I left so much out some how. We went to Colombo’s which was great. We had drinks and dessert at the Lime Inn, also good. We went to St. John Spice no less than 3 times. My wife has named Kiss of the Jumbie the best coffee, in the world! I found this mustard based Valley Doll hot sauce that is really good. Also, I left out going to Trunk. This was the first time I got my son to snorkel, he went all the way to the red buoy with me. I almost cried I was so excited and I left it out, I amaze myself.

I wanted to note that I bought a Kodak Zx5 for under water shots, and I felt for the price it was worth it. I think the SeaView raft was worth it, but pretty bulky to lug around. I picked up an Otter box that was worth its weight in gold in the rain. And, I wanted to thank Lindy for encouraging me to rent Kia Ora. It isn’t brand new, but damn we had a good time at that house. Only saw “Hootie” one time. The pool is great, the view is great and it was cost effective.

We had an amazing trip and managed to get a lot in. I can not wait to start planning the next trip.

Until then, thanks for reading.

I'm SO glad you liked it!! Yes, it's not the most updated villa but it's got a great layout for the outside areas which is where you spend most of your time anyway and you can't beat the view. It's comfortable inside, it's conveniently located and the price is right! Depending on what my needs are in the future, I'd sure consider it again. It was SO funny to see your picture of the gecko sunning itself in the same spot that we saw it when we were there 6 months ago. Nice to know that things don't change too quickly.

Your reports brightened my days, especially this one. We honeymooned on STJ and still recreate pictures from that first trip.

I remember the excitement of that first snorkel too, that little hand in mine, paddling away next to me. Does your son try to talk to you underwater?
