Treadmill with Google Maps?

Post by chicagoans »

Someone posted awhile back (on an 8 Tuff thread, I think) that they were buying a treadmill that lets you download course elevations based on info from Google maps.

Does anyone have a treadmill like this? Would you be willing to share your thoughts on it? I like the big treadmills at our healthclub, but they don't have the Google maps connection and don't go as steep as the 8 Tuff course, and I'm sure they're more expensive than what most treadmills for the home would be. Some of the treadmills I've found by Googling only go up to 12 or 15% grade (might be typical; maybe I'd have to have an incline machine if I really wanted to mimic the 8 Tuff course.)

Anyone with a treadmill they like and advice for a newbie treadmill buyer -- I'd love to hear your thoughts!

We have a proform treadmill that takes you through the course in map view but Im not certain if the incline is correct.

I believe what you are looking for is a treadmill that has "ifit", you can do a "virtual" run in many cities, it looks like google earth in street view- pretty neat
