Getting the Forum on Kindle Fire

Post by michigancouple »

Hi Gang,

I can easily browse the forum on my Kindle Fire but for some reason I can't log in to check messages or make post comments.

Any Kindle Fire users with more knowledge than me would be helpful :D

Hmm - I have never seen a Fire. When you say can't log in, you are not even getting (seeing) the fields, or it won't let you type, etc? Sounds pretty strange!

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4s, accessing the forum from the browser. I try to log in, and it just keeps sending me back to the login page in an endless loop. It's done it so many times that I know that I'm not making a typing error.

I have an iPhone 4 and the first edition iPad and have never had an issue using the forum. That is a strange about the iPhone 4S - you would think the browser is the same and the OS very similar...

I am not as good with the devices as on the laptop, but maybe you can see if there is a cookie file or cache on the iPhone that can be cleared?

OK... I'm going to do a little research. I've got the following devices in this Apple-centric household:
  • iPhone 4
    iPhone 4s
    Original iPad
    New iPad

I'm pretty sure that I didn't have the problem with my iPhone 4, but I had my 4s on STJ in December, and I remember trying to access my messages on the forum to communicate with someone, and I was having no luck. I didn't really think too much about it until I read this post. I'll report back if it's just occurring on certain devices.

UPDATE - I just watched this YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgn-Q5g9Mtg and followed the instructions, and I can now log on to my forum account. It's not a video, but this page http://www.technipages.com/kindle-fire- ... okies.html might solve Michigancouple's problem.

Hooray! That worked. Thanks Lovermont for solving this for me.
:D

Anthony... I was stuck in the endless loop that Lovermont had described. I would enter my login name and password and it just kept sending me right back to the log on screen again.

Yes we have heard of issues of this type before on regular computers and the cookie file or cache is usually what it is. Some simple corruption that then renders the process undoable. Glad you got it fixed!
