Remember Compass Rose at Pastory Gardens

Post by sailorgirl »

Just a random Monday thought.... did anything else ever open up in that space?

I loved Compass Rose. They were one of the first places to have free wifi on island (aside from the park) and had nicely portioned drinks.

They had a great bar... We always stopped there for our first drink after our arrival, on our way to Coral Bay...

Last time by there it was overgrown with weeds....

Nothing there still :( I thought it was a great spot, would love to see the restaurant and golf open back up. It would be tough in this economy, and it is no longer a 'turn key' operation at this point I'm sure. It would probably need a lot of work ($$$$) to get it looking good and running well again.

That's too bad, I have a soft spot, it was the first place we ate on our first trip to STJ.

Agreed, Compass Rose was a good spot with reasonable prices.

One year while dining there we watched the sun set over St. Thomas, then the full moon rise over Gift Hill...

We had dinner there during the first trip with our friends, the same friends who come along every year since.

We all remember a lovely, relaxed evening with good drinks and fish sandwiches. For years, they would always ask if it was open again.

I had the worst meal I have ever had on STJ there and yes the sunsets were great, if you don't mind electric wires in your photos. And $20 per person for putt putt????? Wonder why they are no longer there???
