Secrets All Inclusive Resorts
Anyone have any experience with Secrets resorts? My daughter is looking at the Secrets Royal resort in Punta Cana for her honeymoon.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have heard from clients that the beaches are dirty and have a lot of seaweed, also clients have reported big men with guns guarding the beach (not my idea of romantic). As a travel agent, my advice would be NOT to go to DR for a honeymoon. That has nothing to do with Secrets. It may be worth their while to contact a travel agent. They would be able to match up their wants/needs to an island. Most times there are no fees, and they can really get the honeymoon they are wishing for. Sometimes they can even offer specials to honeymooners like air upgrades to first class. If they need help, you can always PM me.

We stayed in the general area of Secrets a couple of years ago. There was grass (like STJ turtle grass) in the water, enough that as we swam around, it stuck to us. Every morning a worker raked it off the beach.
We didn't see armed guards ON the resort grounds (only at the entrance) but many people we talked to told us that most resorts do have them walking about, sometimes even on the beach during the day.
One morning we wanted to take a walk and the man working at the front gate advised us to not leave the resort grounds.
