Vanilla flavoring for coffee

Post by AquaGirl »

I am looking for a recipe to make vanilla flavoring for coffee. I like the vanilla flavored creamers, but all the brands (including sugar-free and fat-free varieties) have ingredients that are not good for your health and/or diet. I was wondering if I could maybe soak a vanilla bean in low fat milk? I am not much of a cook, so perhaps I am stretching here. There are so many creative cooks on this site, I thought I would ask.
Thanks

Put a little vanilla extract in the ground coffee when you put it in the basket filter. I do that with cinnamon - sometimes a little nutmeg too - all the time and it's delicious and no fake or bad things to consume. Sadly even MANY of the flavored ground & whole bean coffees have artificial ingredients in them.
Peace,

Lisa

I also sometimes add cinnamon to the coffee grounds.

Thanks to both for posting these ideas. I am going to try both. I have to remember to try them the night before. In the morning I don't remember to try it before I've had my coffee, so then its too late.
