New favorite snorkel this trip----Grootpan Bay

Post by cindygad »

We have been home a week. At least the weather here in Midwest has been mild since we have been back. This was our fourth trip. We were not expecting our trips to continue exceeding our expectations! We were wrong this was our best trip ever.

We were in st John for 11 days and then my sister and brother-in-law, {newbies} joined us for the final 9 days. It was exciting to show them around and watch them discover the joy and beauty of this incredible island. I must say they really got it!!!! We are in the mist of planning another trip next year.

The snorkeling was good in spite of some very windy days. We had several very clear snorkels. My favorite this year our first visit to Grootpan Bay.

I don't hear much talk of this bay...but it looks nice for a calm place when swells are up??

Kiddle and Grootpan are both over there. We stayed on the point between the two this nov/dec when we were there. They are both excellent snorkles. and no one else is ever there. Probably not for timid snorkelers. And not for timid drivers. It's quite an experience to get there. 4wd required.

It is such a big bay it was very calm and clear to the right the day we were there. I can't wait to try Kiddle bay when we go in June. We did not have time to snorkel it this trip.
