T&E trip report - Day 4 1/30/12
Good Morning Forum Friends!
Day 4:
Typical morning start with pancakes for breakfast.. mmm I love pancakes, then we were out the door (rushing of course) by 8:15 to catch the 8:45 ferry to Charlotte Amalie to see our friends, Sue and Ray, who are staying in St. Thomas. Uneventful ferry over to CA, where our friends met us with a Rum Punch! (They really are GOOD friends!)
Then off we go. The weather is not looking that good, so we head up to Mountain Top for a view of some of the islands, and for a world famous Banana Daiquiri. OMG YUM! Did a little shopping there, and I bought a Rainbow Topaz ring. Next we head down to where they are staying, a beautiful place overlooking Megan’s Bay. Wow.. what a view. We make some rum punch, pack the cooler with some snacks and we then go off in search of some lunch. We find Hull Bay Hideaway, as our friends had had lunch their a couple of days ago and said it was very good. Well, it must have been the cooks day off, because only the bartender was there, and he was serving a very limited menu. Oh well… Eric, Sue and I had a burger, while Ray had a hotdog. Big mistake there.. He did not feel very well afterwards…
After our lunch, we head down to Megan’s Bay Beach and spend the day on this glorious piece of island… Not too much today, lots of relaxing… Back on the CA ferry at 5:30, and home we went to another rain storm on STJ… We make taco’s for dinner, and to bed we go.
Tomorrow is our big day on Daydreamer. We are all looking forward to that. They are picking up Sue and Ray in STT, then picking us up. This excursion is a snorkeling stop somewhere, then off to JVD for lunch at Foxy’s and then on to White Bay to the Soggy Dollar! Eric and I have never done this excursion, so we are very much looking forward to it!
