Greetings from heaven on earth!

Post by mnfun2bme »

Hi All,
We made it! Spent the day trying to avoid some pretty major waves. We've got the virgin snorklers with us and we were trying to find calmer waters for them to have their maiden snorkel voyage. We found it at Francis Bay... but the water was pretty churned up. They all loved it so the next week+ will be very fun!
Gorgeous weather... far better than the MN winter back home!

We also headed to the East End to snorkel at Haulover South. The waters were calm there... but still rather murky.

The beer is cold, the rum is perfect and all is well with the world.

We're meeting friends at the NPS shorewalk tommorrow morning. 7 ships are in St. Thomas tomorrow so we're avoiding the Northshore and heading to Little Lamshur.

God, I love it here! Thinking of you all and I'm thankful for all the tips you've helped with!

Please report back on the shorewalk. We might do that with our 6yo next month.

Hi PAGirl,
We did the shorewalk last year and loved it so we were actually going back again this year to soak in more information.

Well, we arrived this morning. The ranger was 1/2 hour late... but who cares, right? We're on island time!

The water was so rough at Leinster that she opted to give us a shore walk that was more botany oriented so we stayed up on the road and discussed plants, trees, history of the island, bugs, spiders and some of the birds. It was awesome... but when it comes to this place, I love to soak up as much information as possible!

IMO, It's worth the time!

Hi Lisa!

Just wanted to say hi -- I saw your group when we were at Francis last week! I had been snorkeling near a turtle and my husband pointed me out to your group in the hopes that they'd be able to see it too; unfortunately the little turtle took off pretty quickly. Hopefully a couple of your snorkeling newbies had a chance to see him!

I spoke with one of your friends up on the beach as we were leaving. It was fun to glimpse a little bit of VIOL in person. :) Hope you guys had a fun trip!!
