25th Anniversary Trip

Post by VacationMom »

I'm looking for suggestions on where to stay near Cruz Bay. My husband and I were planning a trip to Ireland in May, but I can get to and stay at my favorite St. John for way less!!!! We have stayed in Chocolate Hole hills, Coral Bay and Devers Bay before, but have never done a trip just the two of us. I think we need to be near Cruz Bay but I'm not sure where. Frank Bay? Budget is an issue as always; the less expensive the better. What is a romantic, less expensive, convenient place to stay? We love to hang at the beach, hike, enjoy a good happy hour and then grill dinner at the homefront. Where would you stay?

We stayed at Lavender Hill for our 25th anniversary last June. You can easily walk to everything in Cruz Bay. They have an awesome pool that we had to ourselves every afternoon, they have two grills in a common area that no one used the entire week we were there, so you should be fine grilling out at the unit after a day at the beach. The units are fully AC'd, views are awesome, the price is great and the on site manager is very friendly and great if you need him. They have back up generator power for the entire complex which was great because there was a 3 day power failure while we were there, but it never affected us one bit...We watched Cruz Bay come alive every morning, chilled on the deck each afternoon with a cold beverage while watching the daysails come back in, watched the lights twinkle on the live aboards in the harbor at night AND if you get the urge to go back into town at night, you just walk down there....no driving after dark and looking for parking!!! We will never stay anywhere else!

We haven't stayed there yet- but in March we will be staying @ Moonsong overlooking Hart Bay in the Chocolate Hole area - which you know is not too far from Cruz Bay. It looks like a very lovely house - nothing fancy, but fresh & open... and it's VERY REASONABLE!!!!!
Peace,

We have stayed at Artistic Villas place in town and lavender hill. Both great choices, walking distance to town. Artistc Villas, Villa Bulgiviella (sp??) is a 2 min walk to Frank Bay and the snorkling there is great if you get past the urchins. Both places are priced right.

We stay at Gallows Point or Lavender Hills when we stay in Cruz bay. Both are great. Gallows will be a bit more expensive depending on your travel date, but we found it to be more romantic and nicer due to being on the water. Nothing wrong with Lavender Hills, we still stay there when we want to save a little money. You will love being able to walk into town and not worry about driving.

Lavender Hills All The Way!

Post by Boston Mike »

Let me chime in and give another shout out to Lavender Hills!

We go every year and will be returning again in April & May. Have we checked out other places? Sure we have. What it comes down to is what we are comfortable with. You can’t go wrong with Lavender Hills. Close proximity to Cruz Bay (2 minute walk), awesome pool, grills, and a great view. The grounds are well kept, and the units are nicely decorated and clean. The price alone is something you have to look at. The sfaff, all I can say is awesome!!!!!
There is nothing like sitting out on the deck and watching Cruz Bay come alive in the morning, and go to sleep at night.

Five thumbs up for Lavender Hills.

Give them a call, you won’t regret it.

STJ on a Budget

Treetops is a great guest house and I hear great things about it. They can take you on boat trips and so forth and it is quite comfortable. It is located in the Fish Bay area past chocolate hole. Let me know your thoughts.
