ATM and Credit Card question

Post by PatrickMcc »

We are returning this Feb after a ten year break- back in the 1980's and 90's the ATM's were not reliable-are they now? I have gotten out of the habit of bringing travelers' checks with us on trips. Will the food markets take credit cards? Thanks. :?:

Yes, pretty reliable. However, be sure to let your bank know that you will be in the VI or it using it there could trigger an anti-fraud flag. I had my card temporarily shut down last trip by the banks fraud unit.

It’s probably been about 5 years since the last time the machine was empty when we tried to get cash, but we always go in the off-season, I don’t know about the high season. We’ve never had problems with the ATM in the Marketplace near Star Fish Market.

Most grocery stores take credit cards, as do most restaurants.
