Good Morning!!
Good Morning!!
Hi Guys!! I'm back and ready to start planning our next adventure to Paradise!!
We don't have a date yet, but that is okay, half the fun is in the pre-planning anyway!!
I'm going to take the next couple of days to read up on the forum. I hope everyone is doing well and that all went well with your trips to STJ or that they will for your upcoming trips. I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone and reading some Trip Reports
We just got back from a 10 day cruise that went to Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada and Martinique. We had a lovely, lovely time. St. Lucia is lovely and I can't wait to go do a Land vacation there.
I hope that everyone is well and that life is good.

Good morning to you, too! Welcome back! St. Lucia was on our list for our trip but I steered away because the Cricket World Cup matches were being played there during that week and hotel rates were doubled! Maybe we'll check it out sometime.

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

Thnx all for your nice welcome back!!
LSU - I don't know anything about St. Lucia being unsafe to go around on. From the people that we met there I would think that it would be like anyplace that one visits. Just mind your p's & q's and stay alert and all s/b okay. But I certainly am no authority. Sorry.
St. Lucia is beautiful, although, we only saw it by her coastline as we sailed in, did an all day whale & dolphin watching, snorkeling (awesome!), lunch trip, and then back to the ship and then sailed away.
For our excursion, we saw tons of dolphins, but no whales. All of the St. Lucian's that we met were super nice. We dined for lunch at an open air restaurant that was fantabulous!! And the picture that I took from this spot is one of the most picturesque pictures that I've ever taken. It screams Tropical with a capital T!
I have tons of pictures to post, and I promise that I will get those done, along with my St. John pictures from December, and give you all a link. I will make that a priority over the next two weeks.

We have been to St Lucia a couple of times and loved it, but it really is an island that is beauty beyond the beach. The beaches are similar to STJ in that they are cove like, but the sand is a brown sugar color and does not have anywhere near the dazzling light blue, clear water that St John has. We found the island to be interesting in that the scenery is beautiful and it has a strong West Indian culture that STJ lacks. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to St Lucia was a day trip to the Grenadine Islands. I figured the opportunity might not arise again so we splurged a little. It was an outstanding day.
Going "home" again October 26th!
Hey there Kygirl!! I've missed being here but was so busy at work, things are better there for the moment, and then getting ready for our 10 day cruise. Now it is just time to stay at home for a while and chill. But your time is almost here to go to STJ...I'll be around to help give you a big send off. I can't wait for your Trip Report!!
Brenda - we will go back to St. Lucia for a Land vacation. The land looked awesome from the Sea and I bet there are some really nice hiking trips to do there. I agree, the water was really dark, we did have a nice time of snorkeling and great visability, so that was great. The water was a little choppy that day, but we survived. The Indian food we ate was great and we can't wait to go back and have more!
