Creolla - January
Hi! This is my first post to the board. I am going to St. John for my first anniversary in January. We are staying at Creolla. Has anyone stayed there recently? From the pictures, the inside looks a bit outdated. The deck, hot tub and price really sold me however. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi CTBeachGirl! Congrats on your first post!
I haven't stayed at Creolla but I've heard many comments about the incredible views. I don't think it has a/c but you should be just fine in January with the trade winds that high up.
I know you will love it there and if it's your first time to St. John you will be amazed! Happy 1st anniversary with many more to come~~~~

Welcome CTBeachGirl! I was hoping someone who had stayed at Creolla more recently would respond to your question with a little more up-to-date information, but I'll give you some 7-year-old feedback ...
We stayed there in January 2005 for an anniversary trip and really liked the villa. At the time it could have used a little updating, but it wasn't a big deal. It's a very quiet, secluded and "cozy" little villa that is basically one large open space (kitchen, dining, living room area) with vaulted ceilings and two bedrooms and a bath on the back end. The shower isn't exactly open air, but one side had a screened area allowing a nice breeze in. Everything was nice and neat and adequate inside, but the furniture was a little dated and uncomfortable, I thought. No biggie, as we spent the majority of our time at a beach or outside on that deck enjoying the view!
As msgcollen said, the view is absolutely incredible from up there! The deck is big, with a grill and gazebo for dining, and a large hot tub... all taking advantage of the view. msgcolleen also mentioned no A/C, but it was never hot up there, and there was always a nice breeze. Again, we were usually at the beach all day and only there in the evenings, but I doubt it would get very hot even in the day. Plus, there were nice ceiling fans inside.
The driveway was pretty scary the first time up, but was actually kind of fun after that!
Hopefully someone who has stayed there more recently will respond, but you might also inquire from the owners to see what recent improvements they may have made. But we thought it was a great little villa back in 2005, especially for an anniversary or honeymoon! Feel free to PM me if you have other questions!
I hope you have a great anniversary, no matter which villa you choose!
