Jumbie Bar and small second hand trip report!
Jumbie Bar and small second hand trip report!
So, J and I decided to stay home with Tucker instead of taking the scheduled trip with a 5 week old. My parents, brother and sister in law went as planned.
I sit here eating a piece of the Jumbie bar they brought me back from Deli Grotto and it is wonderful. They also brought me a raspberry bar from Baked in the Sun, these treats are both highly recommended!
My parents left on the 14th and had an uneventful travel day. Arrived at Morgan's Point and felt that if all of us had decided to go, we would have been tripping over each other all week. The said the villa seemed a little more dated then they expected, but it met their needs, the drive was pretty easy and the deck was nice. They did mention that they didn't like the pool being in another area. After this trip, it was decided that they prefer staying in Coral Bay, I already knew that I prefered it, but it they chose this villa so I went along with it back in January!
My brother and his wife arrived on Saturday and my grandfather passed away back here in KC that evening 10 minutes after J and I left the hospital. That was hard on all of our family, but it was deicded that we would have the service yesterday and the travelers would just return a day early. My parents will be turning in claims to CSA travel insurance so I will let everyone know how that goes!
One of their favorite new places is Cactus on the Blue, they all really enjoyed their meal there and felt that it really gets overlooked by a lot of people.
Baked in the Sun-I think they must have eaten breakfast here a lot! The bagels with veggie and garlb/herb cream cheese are a favorite as well as the bagel breakfast sandwiches.
They also hit Skinny Legs, Beach Bar and Woody's which were as good as usual. Tourist Trap for an snack and drinks.
Two dinners at Aqua Bistro where the risotto and fish specials were the favorites. They really enjoyed their meals here too.
They took sandwiches to the beach from Deli Grotto and the Pink Cadillc was the favorite. They also carried out from Cafe Roma one night and said they much prefer carrying out from there instead of eating in like we've always done.
They didn't hit as many beaches as we normally do, probably because J and I weren't there to keep them at the beach late in the day!
Best Snorkeling they experienced was at Salt Pond. My dad even got to watch an octopus for quite a while one day. They enjoyed Trunk until the cruise ship crowd arrived, had a great day at Francis and spent a few days at Maho which is their favorite place to relax!
I tried to live vicariously through them as I stayed home with each of their young, yellow labradors, my young chow/shepherd mix, one cat, one newborn baby, took care of their pool, and helped my grandma make arrangements for my grandpa while attending another friends visitation! It is not a week I want to repeat, the closest we got to the beach was the ocean sounds on Tuckers noise machine!
