I didnt see your post over on the other forum... So I hope you see my answer here.
the Marina Market in Red Hook is not a long walk away. A bit further is a SubWay sandwich shop. I am sure there are other ideas, but this is what we did. :)

There are a few snacks for sale in the terminal. AH Riise used to have a liquor store there, but that didn't last long.

There's also a convenience store with a fairly good snack/beverage selection at the gas station across the street from the ferry terminal. It's a quicker in and out than Marina Market, IMO.

To my pleasant surprise, I found they sold cold drinks (read beer) in what I thought was the maintenance shed at the car barge landing. I was disappointed getting the Mister B instead of the Roanoke when we pulled in, but I perked up after finding this little hole in the wall. :D

We hit Marina Market for the ferry ride. We also like Molly Malones for drinks/dining.
