So...let's talk car rental-Updated Car rentals on STJ

Post by Xislandgirl »

We LOVE STJ Car rental but this past trip they had no parking because all their rentals were in and as much as I like Slim Man, I would really prefer to have parking that I don't have to pay for.

Thoughts?

While I appreciate all the recs for STT rentals, I am looking for suggestions for STJ rental companies

They did not have a busy week of rentals when we were there so all their cars were in the lot, it was not guests just their rentals.
We were there for 8 nights and never found parking, I am not willing to do that again

We always use Bougainvillea Jeep rental and have had great service, good vehicles and no problems. Their parking is in front of the Schnell's studio, so its a few minute walk into town. Not a problem for us, but not as close to the stores and restaurants as some other companies. We've always been able to park there - daytime and evening.

Amalie on STT works great for us. We park at the DMV, or Slim's if we're feeling lazy. I love having time on our last day to lounge without doing the exodus on the people ferry.

I just won't rent on STT. I know it works for tons of people but once you have had a car issue that could have ruined an entire day if we rented on STT, I am not willing to take that chance.

BTW Rick- Bev and I have booked...time to get planning :)

I figured I'd just pop in and crash at your place!

I'm not booking anything until later in the season. I'm paying full freight for Thanksgiving week and airfare for four. I'm going cheap in the spring.

I second Amalie on STT. Hassle free for sure!! Although we don't spend a ton of time downtown, we have never had a problem finding parking. It might take a few trips around the block but we usually score something. Happy planning X..this is half the fun :D

Penns offers parking in their lot. It is large and easy to navigate.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I second Penns. Been using them exclusively for years. Their vehicles are always clean and in good
running condition. The parking lot is extremely convenient and plenty of room. :D :D

We used Denzil Clyne right across from the National Park Dock and we have parked there lots of times!! This location works great for us as we use the private water taxi when arriving and it's right there across from the dock!!! We are using them again in December too! In March we had about 3 hours to kill before boarding ferry and Bonica was kind enough to hold our luggage at their office while we walked around Cruz Bay. Great rates and vehicles too! 340-776-6715

We've use Conrad Sutton the last 3 years. They are right in town and you can use their lot to park as well. Cars have always been decent and tires have been good as well.

Ditto on B&J in VA...we have never used anyone else but them. NEVER had an issue with getting a parking spot...AND our last two trips were during Carnival... We won't use anyone else...they're awesome to deal with...love them.

We have also used Conrad Sutton. We have never had a problem parking in their lot and they are very close to shopping and dining
