Hotel tax on villas?
Is there a separate hotel tax on villa rentals? I don't recall paying one in April...but now I see some saying you have to pay it.

Thought I read that the hike in tax was put on hold. Or maybe it's been on hold and going in to effect next year. Confused I guess.villafish wrote:The tax now is 8% and is going to 10% January 1, 2012. For any reservations in 2012, even if you have already booked, you will have to pay the increased tax, which I do not personally agree with. But that's the story we have been told.

Yes, the tax has been in place for a long time.Need2GetAway wrote:Did we used to pay any tax at all (this year)?
Some villas on VRBO will include tax in the price listed, but if you rent through a management company you pay 8% on top of your villa rate.
