Help - narrowed it down to 4!!!

Post by oliversmom »

Has anyone stayed at Altagracia, Splendore, Bongo-Bongo, or Infinity? It's so hard to choose, and we're traveling with another couple. Haven't been to STJ in almost 8 years and we can't wait!!! Just want to pick a great villa. Thanks!

I would say Splendore is just the best. Great spot and a really great villa.

I'd think hard on Splendore...and if you decide on it...get on top of it quick. It's very popular, books far in advance, and has repeat guests with first choice of booking.

I seem to recall a review within the last year that Altagracia is getting a little "long in the tooth". Catered To gave me a hard sell on that property when I was looking for a villa this spring. I would go with Splendore. Great convenient spot with beautiful views. We stayed just below it a few years ago. Bongo is very trendy and in a nice spot, but high up, just like Infinity. No "in your face" blue water, like Splendore, which is what we love.

We stayed at Bongo Bongo in May and both loved it and didn't love it (if that makes sense). Unfortunately we were there during a very rainy week and because of the complete openness of the living room, dining room and kitchen, we were eaten alive by mesquito's. Other than that, great villa. During a dry week, it would be spectacular!
