Noah's Little Ark

Post by greyhoundmom »

This has probably been addressed a few times, but....We have 4 adults (two skinny, two fluffy and two amazing, lean 18 year olds). We probably need to rent two little boats? We want to go to W Cay for the day. Any shade over there and how is the snorkle, amazing right? How long can you rent for the day and do we need to reserve before our 6/15 trip? Any advice appreciated! GHM

I think there is plenty of room on the 14 foot dinghy. We rented one during our first trip to St. John, but if you are not sure call them up and ask. One boat would be fun and less money. We have reserved a 14 foot dinghy from Noahs for our dinghy day on May 23rd and will be six non fluffy people with a cooler and beach bags. I spoke to Han at Sail Safaris 1-866-820-6906, he was very friendly and helpful.

I was told both sizes can fit 4 adults though you obviously have more room in the 14 foot boat.

We've only hiked there, but the snorkeling is fantastic. Look for the starfish as you come around to the beach side. There were dozens of them when we snorkeled in November!

If you can afford it, maybe give the 18 year olds their own 12 footer - you can (and probably should) stick together, but my guess is that they'll have more fun. I think if you put 6 people in them they will go pretty slow.

Oh, and they rent from 9:00 - 5:00 if you do the full day. Half day is 8:30-12:30 or 1:00-5:00. Here is a good description off of the Low Key website:

NOAH’S LITTLE ARKS DINGHY RENTALS
12ft Dinghy Half Day $75.00 - Add to Cart
12ft Dinghy Full Day $130.00 - Add to Cart
14ft Dinghy Half Day $95.00 - Add to Cart
14ft Dinghy Full Day $170.00 - Add to Cart
have a blast, rent a dinghy!
Discover St. John’s famous North Shore beaches from the water! A great way for the couples or the whole family to explore some of the best snorkeling spots not easily accessible by land! No experience necessary. Noah’s has both 12 ft and 14 ft dinghies available for rent. Half-day trips are 4 hours (8:30 to 12:30 pm or 1-5 pm) and full day are 8 hours (9 to 5 pm). The 12 ft dinghies can accommodate up to (4) people and have a 15 hp outboard engine; the 14ft dinghies can accommodate up to (6) adults and have a 30 hp engine. Advanced reservations are highly recommended since the dinghies book up very quickly, especially in high season. Dinghies are limited to the North Shore of St. John. Additional fuel charge of $25.00 is payable in cash directly to Noah’s Lil Arks.

You can also just skip the middleman and contact Noah's directly at 866-820-6906.

That's what we did and it worked well.

Yes, I just posted off of Low Key's website because the Noah's website is pretty lame. We reserved through low Key because we were doing some other stuff with them and she answered my email quickly. lol

Hey don't knock the *middleman* (or in my case woman lol) - don't forget I have my tour operators license and someone somewhere gets the commission whether it be the person answering the phone to the person answering the emails so why not let it be me :)

Pia

ps: I don't book Noah's at this time - I've just started my business - St John Excursions - new website stjohn-excursions.com soon come (actually it is up and running but we only have a very very basic layout and info on there - anyone want to help me :) )

Good for you, Pia! I already booked Bad Kitty through you and will come find you if we decide to rent a dinghy! Where is your kiosk?
