Pia-- having done a TOTAL bathroom remodel ourselves I can totally sympathize with that part of your project. I also decided to do niche's and I LOVE THEM!! They are like THE BEST THING I did to the bathroom. Such a space saver! They are genius. My only complaint is that i shoud have added a bit more tilt to the tiles at the bottom to make it easier for the water to drain out. I just have to be more careful about mold in the one that is lower and catches more water.

The tile you picked is GORGEOUS!

LOVE everything you've done to the place and can't wait to see it again when all is DONE!
*Another fine scatterbrained production

I am very impressed with everything you have already done and are going to be tackling at your home! Very intrigued about jacking the house up... I'll be watching for pictures of that.

Thanks for reminding us that there are still real life issues to deal with when living in paradise!

Good luck and thanks for keeping us posted.

Pia, this is the first time I've read your blog. My goodness this is ridiculous. I hope your husband isn't just learning on the run, he's making the rest of us males look like girly boys! My wife wants him now, and I think I want him too!

He's the man!!! Fantastic job, can't wait for more progress reports.

I am fascinated by the work you're doing! And Pia, you're killing me with the suspense:
Did it work you ask, are we now “suspended” in mid air? stay tuned for part 3 of “all jacked up”

Seriously, I'm trying to picture what your house looks like now and can't wait to see the next pics.

Did you make a decision on whether to have a pony wall between the shower and toilet in your new bathroom? One option would be to use a frosted glass wall, to have the privacy of a pony wall but the extra space (and light) of having an all glass wall.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to more!

surfnh you crack me up :)

Chicagoans yes we have decided - or at least I have - I am 99.999% sure we are going with no pony wall and all glass - I will do an updated on that topic (thanks for reminding me) probably this weekend - if we are still standing as the big cut happens (or has it happened all ready..........hummmm)

Having seen it firsthand, I am amazed (and now hubby is too) and how much you guys (ahem...les) have done! Really brave and amazing craftsmanship. When we find our STJ fixer upper, les might have a new side business ;)
