Clearing Customs? Airport arrival times?

Post by CantWait4STJ »

1 week to go and I'm a little confused about something I read somewhere -- do we actually have to go through customs on the way back to the US from STT airport? We're bringing our passports anyway since we're doing a charter trip to the BVIs... Do we need to arrive at the airport 2 hours in advance of our flight, or is an hour ok? Don't want to have any hassles whatsoever! Just thought that since it's the USVI, we didn't have to do that. Thanks.

Yes you clear Customs and Immigration upon departure at the STT airport and if checking luggage be there 2 hours before if you have carry on only probably 1 1/2 hours will be fine at this time of year unless it is a Saturday or Sunday then I would still recommend 2 hours - they will not let you fly if you arrive less than 1 hour before departure
