Hoping for photos/ mural help-

Post by mahojim »

OK, so I paint.
I've done several murals, and my next challenge is painting a "skylight" mural on the ceiling of our bathroom.
I'm looking for the proper view, upwards, of a palm tree under the blue sky.
I'm stuck between doing something involving the entire trees,or just the view between the fronds/ leafs into the sky.
Anyone have any photos of palm/ maho trees from the ground up?
Thanks for the help, been wrestling with the decision.
Smiles-

I don't know if this helps or not, but I wound up creating a banner for in our "wine" cellar for behind our bar - I used images from our Island Stones Villa views and a few others. I also used a wooden petroglyph as the background:

If enough of us chip in, maybe you can take the best from all of the pictures and create the "perfect" compilation. Hope this can contribute towards that:

Thanks for the pix, so far, folks!
So on the beach looks like a winner,- it's gotta' be relatively simple; a one or two day job. Kinda' rough painting on the ceiling in the bathroom,-moisture issues with the shower & all... When I'm done I'm thinking of putting up crown molding so it looks like you're actually looking through a window. I just wish I had the time to learn how to use an airbrush... :( I'll keep you updated!
Need more pix to work with!
Susan-
That's about the coolest thing I've ever seen as far as something for a "home bar". After 20 yrs or so working behind one, I know cool bar stuff!
I've never seen its' equal,- bravo!!! I'm jealous!
Thanks again, and always

Jim,

Just had to add a couple of my pics for you:

My daughter has painted a few wall murals that are of a sunset/sunrise background and then paints the palm trees in silhouette in the foreground. They look a lot like this scene:
