Days 6-9 trip report

Post by cindygad »

We started the day with a rock scramble at Great Lameshur beach. We snorkeled behive and on the left or south east in a shape of a u. I saw my first spotted ray. I got so excited so the picture is not too good.

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0076.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0076.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The afternoon we spent at little Lameshur bay just chilling out

I love Hawksnest beach early in the morning. We just read and enjoyed the quiet morning. We had a 5 min shower then we were rewarded with this.

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0112.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0112.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Francis was our beach for the afternoon.Had reservations for Rumblines tonight.Started with a guava Margaretta and Caribbean lobster. We always enjoy the food here.

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... MG0208.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... MG0208.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Woke up to rain. Made coffee then the electric went out. We wondered how long it would be out and amazingly for an island it was only out about a hour.
We had a kayak tour booked with eco tours this morning. The rain Gods were in our favor and it stopped around 08:30. We met at 0900at Haulover South and Chad was our guide. It was our first kayak ever for us and we truly enjoyed it. We snorkeled along long point and Pelican rock. It was gray outside and visibility was not great but still had a good time.

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... G_0097.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... G_0097.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We were hungry so stopped at Vie's for our first time. Why had we never been here?Loved the garlic chicken and johnny cakes with honey. It was crowded so we had a nice visit with a family from New Jersey.
The sun came out and we decided to snorkel Pelican rock from the beach. Better snorkel with the sun out.Tip it is probably not the best decision to snorkel right after the garlic chicken. We both were burping garlic in our masks. I wonder what the fish thought.

Friday we went and parked at Westin. We had read on a running blog where it was alittle safer to walk or run on Cruz bay road. We enjoyed the walk to Choc hole and back. There was very little traffic.

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0202.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0202.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0201.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... C_0201.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We stopped at Deli Grotto and got a sandwich to split for lunch on the beach. We scored a parking space at Oppenheimer beach.Snorkeling was good to the right.

<a href="http://s621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... G_0119.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt29 ... G_0119.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Another first supper at Lime inn. I had maui maui with some kind of hollandaise sauce with mango and pineapple that was to die for. My husband had a whole snapper fish. Service was good and this will be on our return list for next year.

Thanks everyone. Kayaking was fun and we hope to rent the next time we are at Cinnamon bay.

I am not sure what is up with the boat. It was to the left of the dock at the Westin.

That picture of Hawksnest Beach with rainbow was a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing your trip. It sounds and looks so rejuvenating.

We snorkel at Great Lameshur and that pic of the spotted eagle turned out great for the depth too! 8)
