Wyndham Sugar Bay in STT

Post by ronbo3107 »

We were going for a change this year to St. Croix but the owner of the villa double booked and we were 2nd so I have a bit of a problem. I found a deal at Wyndham Sugar Bay in STT but i've read some bad things about it since they went all-inc. I was looking for anyone that has stayed there in the past year to give a little imput as to what i could expect, or should I keep looking. Our tickets are for march 5th.

I recently stayed there for two separate one night stays. We opted for the non all inclusive option. It did come with a breakfast, which I thought was pretty good (buffet style lots of options). The room was $175 a night with the breakfast.

The staff was very nice, so no complaints there. Both of the rooms were very musty. The first one had an A/C that didn't work right, so it would have been uncomfortable to a lot of people, ok for us since we are used to heat and humidity. Both rooms were kind of run down, and I did notice a lot of mildew in the bathrooms, and just not very clean over all. The second room we were in, they decided to "seal" the floors outside of our room while we were still in the room. It was the most toxic smell, so much so that we had to leave, even though we asked them to move, which they did. So we had to check out a couple hours early to escape the smell (I was 9 months pregnant and couldn't take it).

Certainly nothing to write home about! But I think that if we had complained about the room the staff would have moved us.
