Taxi to Cost-u-less then redhook
We love Rachael, but are not totally commited. We will get into STT early and would love to stop by cost-u- less before getting on the Redhook ferry. We are getting our car from Sutton's on STJ. Any advise.
All I can say is good luck
Seriously a private taxi will be $90 and extra if they have to wait at CUL (we never get out of there in less than 30 mins especially if the lines are long on Saturdays and we know exactly the layout of the store) - also keep in mind the extra baggage fees for boxes/bags of food on the ferry

I am totally in favor of a Costuless shopping stop - BUT only for a larger group, or a longer stay for a smaller group and usually with a STT rental car.
Doing it with a private taxi, for a couple or even 4 people, just may not be cost effective , although you may find the food quality and prices worth it - compared to STJ if you are really doing a week or more worth of purchasing. Food, booze, sodas, water etc. - but really those ferry charges might be a dealbreaker?
