Live from Vieques
Helo forum, since I have a couple of minutes while I am waiting for John, I thought I would give a mini check in on Vieques so far. I will provide more in depth information and some photos once I am home.
The good: the island is lovely, the people are very friendly, the beaches are gorgeous--some more than others. It was easier to get here than to get to St. John.
We are at the W. I haven't come to final thoughts on it yet.
Snorkeling, we have checked three beaches so far. The coral is in good shape-thick and plentiful though smaller than some St. John corals. Also, there is less variety. I have not seen anything to rival my favorite St. John spots yet, but I would say that one place was as good as Waterlemon for coral. We've been dealing with stronger currents than what you find on St. John also.
Fish--there are lots more fish in St. John. We have found some, but the variety that St. John offers is not present here--or we have not found it yet.
There are wild horses everywhere!
That's it for now!

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
