Google Map Question
Google Map Question
After a 2 year hiatus, we're excited to be planning another escape to STJ in late January. Kid's off to college, so no longer do we have to plan our trips during school breaks. Woooohooooo.
My geeky husband has a question for the locals or frequent STJ travelers: He's a Google Map-aholic, and is amazed by what Google Maps knows -- or,
thinks it knows
. And, so he asks:
Is there REALLY a new road, labelled #20, which goes SOUTH from Centerline Road and ends up in Coral Bay? If Google is to be believed, the North Shore road, which joins Centerline at Columbo's, now crosses it
and goes down the hill as King Hill road. Is it a real road, or just a wide jeep track?
Thanks for any insight/info.

That's the King's Hill Road, which was once the main way into Coral Bay (the stretch of Centerline below the intersection was built in the 1950s). It used to be graded regularly, but has been let go in recent years, so definitely a 4-wheel drive adventure at the moment.
It is slated for improvement in the coming year. It's amazing what happens in election years!
