Drop off laundry or do yourself?

Post by Gromit »

OK. So.

We're going to be on Jost for a week and STJ for a week.

Originally I was planning on just doing laundry when I got to STJ. The owners were kind enough to say we could use their W/D since it was a dealbreaker for me not to be able to use it, esp. after a week on Jost and knowing that there was no way I was hauling 2 weeks worth of clothes down with me.

HOWEVER, I know that STJ has several laundry service type places and that this is "affordable."

So my question is, HOW affordable are the laundry services? How do they charge and what does it typically cost to do this sort of thing?

Or do I just plan on doing it myself while on STJ?

Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm open!!!

I always do my own in the condo. It's no prob at all. It's just tees and bathing suits. In fact, it's fun. At home I have to take the lift down to another floor and meet all the neighbors who say, "laundry day? Ha-ha." Doing laundry in private is a joy

I'm also interested in knowing more about the drop off services. Add CEO of the front loaders to my real life job description. Taking enough clothing so I don't need to do laundry is the biggest reason I will never be able to do carry-on.

Let me also clarify that the reason I am asking about alternatives is because I would rather not impose upon my hosts good will about using their Washer/Dryer unless absolutely necessary.

SO if there is an alternative that isn't going to break the bank AND I don't have to feel guilty about using something that isn't made available normally to guests then I won't stress as much or feel like I am intruding.

Does that make sense?

After the bed bug thread I'd rather use Mike and Eileen's washer/dryer. Buy them a little something nice for the use of their utilities.

When we're not at the Westin, we use Kilroy Laundry. Opens at 7:00 AM, drop off that early and it's ready at Noon or 1:00 PM. Cleaned, folded, happy! Wife & I every 6 days we drop off, $10.00 plus 2.50 tip. Very much worth it. Get off the bed bugs and enjoy your vaca!!! It's like, do you want cheap wine or good wine to treat yourself. It's like Lobster, if you want it, buy it.
