BVI slideshow thru TA

Post by jmq »

Recently tried out this "Tripwow" slide show maker available thru Tripadvisor.
Its pretty easy to use if you have stuff already uploaded to flickr or picasaweb - I just dumped a bunch of photos into it from a folder I have on picasa from a previous trip in 08 to the BVIs and it automatically generated this slideshow with the graphics and music etc.
The slideshow is a little slow, takes awhile (over 8 minutes) to get thru 74 photos, but it looks pretty cool for minimal effort.

jmq, have been looking forward to try the TRIPWOW, but I don't succeed. I have all my pictures in Picasa
many of them uploaded to Web. When I try to transfer the pics clicking on Picasa using my email adress as a user name only a few are to see. After that I set up a gmail account and try to use this username to start. But the answer was that the account wasn't valid on Picasa.

How did you do it?

linne - are your picasa photos uploaded to picasweb thru your gmail account? While in Picasa, click on the green arrow upload button to do that on your picasa photos. There then should be a "web albums" link at the upper right hand corner of your picasa page. Also, don't dump too many photos into the slideshow - they have a maximum, and you see how long mine is with 74 images. I should edit that down to 50 or so would be more managable.

That said, I tried adding a few photos to this slideshow from flickr right before I posted this which is also an option with tripwow and it didnt recognize the user name, etc. so maybe the system is buggy right now. See if they have a help or on line "contact us" option to get you through.

Thanks for the answer.

About Picaso:
A few years ago I read about Picasa in this forum. I downloaded it from the Internet, and I transfer pictures to Webalbum clicking on the green "arrow" in the bottom. I have several maps in the webalbum. But the pics are not shown. Perhaps it has something to do with the way I have my maps - they are not registered as “public”.

Don’t think it’s possible to have help from Google.

I will try again and see if I can find a way to do it. I have been looking forward to impress hubby with a show from our safari.

Linne - you might be onto to something with that public folders option. Probably something like that has to be checked or unchecked to make it happen and make those folders accessible to tripwow.

Thanks if you sat thru it - like I said, it runs a little long and slow, but way simple to do, pretty cool how it generates those graphics, and a more ideal # of photos would be 50 or less.
