FYI: Mosquitoes Love Dark Clothing
.
I meet many visitors who do not know that mosquitoes
are attracted to dark things: dark clothes, dark hair,
dark totes, purses or backpacks. Black being the color they love most.
TIP: If you have dark hair and mosquitoes are buzzing
around your head, put on a light (preferably white)
baseball cap. That helps.
The less dark colored items you have on or around you
the better.
I am not saying that light colored clothes will get rid
of mosquitoes, but it is far better than wearing
dark clothes if there are mosquitoes around.

That "fact" got me the evil eye from my teammates during a trivia session on the Adventure of the Seas, because according to THEM, a mosquito's favorite color is BLUE. They didn't specify dark or light just BLUE.
So, first thing I did when I got back was google "mosquito favorite color." According to the Discovery Channel, it's blue. No other site I could find confirmed it, though.
But, the week that the mosquitoes were so bad, I had on BLUE pants, and they were swarming me! I quickly took them off, and I think they subsided somewhat, but not sure since I was using other repellants in addition.
I'm almost of the belief that you're either a mosquito magnet or you're not.
