Snorkeling/Beach Equipment Rental in Coral Bay?

Post by JessRobinson »

Hi All,

My wife, two boys (15 and 12) and I will be making our first trip to St. John in late July. We’ll be staying for a week at the Concordia eco-tents. Can’t wait!

I am hoping to find a store in Coral Bay that would be able to take care of all of our equipment rental needs at once. My mental list so far includes:

Full snorkel packages for the four of us
Beach chairs
Beach umbrella (a large sturdy one for much-needed portable shade!)

I have heard that Crabby’s Watersports may be suitable. Are there other stores in Coral Bay I could check out? I’d rather rent in Coral Bay since we’ll be staying on the east side of the island anyway. Or should I simply purchase some of these items when I get to the island?

Any other recommendations for equipment to rent, or purchase? We do plan to hit the beaches every day and of course we are coming empty-handed.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

On our first trip to STJ we rented our snorkel equipment from Crabbys. We had a great experience.

apropos of nothing, if you're there...be at the Beach Bar on Sunday the 25th! Maybe we'll see you there!

I am not sure there is anywhere on island to rent a beach umbrella. You don't really see people using them much either.
I have a friend that has one similar to this that she travels with.

Although Crabby's may indeed be the better option, I believe you can rent some things at Concordia. Specifically, I think they have beach chairs, but perhaps they also have snorkel equipment.

Concordia does have snorkel equipment. Not sure if it's just for the guests or not though.
