There is a group of people who is trying to help with the abanoned pets on STJ. They are trying to find visitors who want to take a cat or dog home with them. There is a web link on Low Key Watersports' web site. http://www.divelowkey.com/acc/

They will provide everything for the adopting family. The pet requires a health certificate to leave the VI and they will provide that. They will also provide the cage and fees for the airlines. The only thing the adopting family has to do is select the pet and take it home.

Although STJ is Paradise for us, that is not the case for abandoned cats and dogs.

I have heard good things about this program (or a similar one) on island.

I know that some forumites have brought down pet carriers to donate so that people can bring pets home with them more easily.

And I think some forumites have returned home with pets over the past several years.
