Abrigado Villa

Post by jdw »

For those of you that have stayed at this villa, would you recommend it for a honeymoon? My friend is considering it. Plenty of privacy?

Thanks.

We loved Abrigado. Beautiful place and the master suite that they would use is the bomb! It is right on the road but folks would have to really make and effort to peak in. When you say 'plenty of privacy', I'd say not much in St. John has that as many folks have binoculars :)

Any other specific questions, fire away.

Hi Nancy - Could you hear traffic/noise from the road? Would you consider this villa a good one for a honeymoon trip?

Thanks.

jdw,

Very little traffic/noise at this villa. It's in a gated community and the only traffic would be construction/gardening vehicles and other folks staying in the neighborhood.

Yes, I would say it's a great villa for a honeymoon. My group of 3 couples LOVED it.

Best of luck!

Nancy - Thanks for your quick reply! It looks like Abrigado will not work for my friend. She is back to square one on villa choices. She thought $4200 was a little high for two people and the villa company will not give any discount. That's okay though - there are plenty of other villas to choose from! I am having fun helping her research!

Thanks again.

I agree with her that 4200 is a lot for one couple for a week!

I have stayed in Bongo Bongo and Reef Madness - both 2 bedroom villas - one on Cruz Bay side and the other in Coral Bay. I highly recommend either one and probably a bit more aligned with their budget.

Happy villa hunting!

Two more great choices Nancy, however, she has ruled both of them out: Reef Madness because she doesn't want to stay in Coral Bay and Bongo Bongo because she read a couple of reviews about the openness/afternoon heat and bugs.

Still hunting for the perfect honeymoon villa!

Thanks again.

We are newbies approaching our first visit to STJ, however we have stayed on several other Caribbean islands. Seems like the same principles apply. If you want real peace and quiet along with privacy, you usually have to get away from the "big city". With that in mind, we have rented Moonswept in Coral Bay because we think it will be quiet and private, even if it means "driving" a bit. She might give that a look, even though its on the wrong end, seems to be private enough for newlyweds.

jdw,

My friends just stayed here in May....new on the rental market.

It has amazing ocean views, great pool, hot tub and very easy driveway. Close to town. Very nicely decorated and very private. Looks like they have lots of 'deals' too.
