Looking for villa input for baby Jonathan Thomas

Post by Tina »

Hi all. We've stayed at Gallows for the last 8+ years, but they don't allow young children so we're getting the boot. We have a little boy, who will be about 18 months in November when we bring him for his introductory trip to STJ (his name is Jonathan Thomas...see any resemblance in the name to our favorite place in the world)!

Can anyone recommend a villa with 2-3 bedrooms in the Cruz Bay, Great Cruz Bay, Chocolate Hole area (perhaps that isn't perched high on a steep cliff...I'm paranoid that the little man will topple over the edge, even though I'm always trailing his every move!) Caneel and Westin prices are outragous! Thanks for any suggesions you can offer.

We stayed here when our son was 18 months old -

We loved the house. There are some elements that weren't as child-friendly as presented but overall, we really, really liked the house. The description says "on a cliff" but getting anywhere close to the cliff would require either climbing over the railing, scaling a 20+ foot wall, running across the yard, down through some very thick brush and so on... or unlocking the front door, walking around the back of the house, across the yard .....

Some other we considered for that trip -

I need to search for the others. There were two more in that area that would have worked for us.

Like your son's name BTW!

The other one I am thinking of was in the Chocolate Hole area. I think MB and Charlie and maybe the Cariberts stayed there in the past. It was a newer house with a large screened-in porch and the pool was off to the side of the house. It was, but no longer is, in the Vacation Vista portfolio.

We stayed at Idyllic in 2006 when our daughter was 2 & 3/4 and at Villa Bijou in 2007 when she was 3 & 3/4 and our son was 6 months.
