Need suggestions for charter tomorrow (Wed)

Post by surfnh »

We'll be with Ocean Runner all day tomorrow. Definites include Indians, another snorkel, lunch somewhere around Norman Island, back to Jost after lunch to hit sandy spit, foxy's, and soggy dollar, then back to cruz.

We need some help here for a snorkel and lunch. We didn't care for the caves much last year, maybe it was the algea plume, and have already been to Willie T's. Can you guys give us some quick ideas for another great snorkel not far from Indians, then also someplace for a quick lunch?

thanks ahead!

cooper island could be your lunch and snorkeling spot! Nice little beach - great snorkeling to the far end (between Cooper and Salt Island) and nice spot to grab lunch and a libation right on the water!

If Jason is your captain tomorrow tell him his Louisiana friends from last Thursday said hey!

Can't really help you on the snorkeling...we only got to go to the Caves because we were behind that morning...island time got the best of us!

For lunch, Foxy's Taboo isn't far from the Indians. The grilled fish sandwich, hummus, and Mediterranean salsa are yummy. I don't know how far Spyglass is from the Indians, but it's a good snorkel, too. Personally, I could spend an entire day at the Indians. It's like an aquarium. Have fun!

thanks for the suggestions, I'll look up more on coopers tonight....we intend to go to foxy's before soggys, I like the drinks there! so we're thinking we'd like to have lunch more over toward Norman.

I'll say if it's Jason, not sure who it will be. We requested Tom but he's not doing it anymore, then Cleve but he wasn't available....now we just want a happy warm body!

There is a nice drift snorkel near Indians that Ocean Runner took us to last year. Can't remember name but it was east to west drift in about 30' of water.
Have fun.

Well we had a great day with Ocean Runner, Mindy was our captain and she did a super job. We snorkeled first on the opposite side of Lovango, then made customs at west end Tortola, then snorkeled at Indians and should have spent alot more time there. Had lunch at Pirates on Norman, then went to Sandy Spit, then to Soggy's for painkillers. Saw Captain Brandy at Soggys, hey John you're everywhere!

It was a great day and again Ocean Runner did a fine job, and they were able to handle our group of 7 as most can only do 6.

Total bummer, have to leave on Sat, starting to count the hours....

Not legally! Did she hit anyone at the customs dock today?

Sorry you feel that way Jay, but I don't think you should criticize the locals by name on a public forum like this. She did a super job with us, and had a great knowledge about each individual snorkel spot we went to. We were very happy.

Be that as it may, I understand that Ocean Runner takes advantage of a loophole in the law and by doing this they can have more than 6 people on some of their boats along with a captain (tour guide). Its not illegal as I understand it, we've used Ocean Runner before and they've never been anything but extremely courteous, professional, and friendly with us. Mindy did a super job, we'll definitely request her next year.

Yes, I asked them about that.... there is a loophole in the law about using "guides" as I understand it. I can't say that I've ever been out with Mindy before, but I've known her for years and liked her right from the get go. She is very laid back and easy to get along with.

I asked if I could get some pictures of the 25' boats, and I'm going to try and get them before the boats go out this morning. Hopefully I'll have a couple photos before day's end.
