Ok, I'll fess up, I started taking classes too. Do you recognize the boat? Although I did change up the scenery.

Well, I like the boat, but I like your talent and skills with the foliage and background even more.

Instead of FB??? Hope you will continue your classes and enjoy a new passion.

What a great painting! I especially like the coconuts and palm fronds. I love tropical artwork.

it is Vie's boat....

Thanks for all the nice comments. I actually just started, my first painting was watercolor and it was REALLY stressful. So I switched to acrylic (which is what my girls have) and this is my second. painting.

The teacher does demonstrate quite a bit (paint and then wipe off), so it is not pure talent or anything. It hasn't been as hard as I expected though, maybe because I have sat in so many of my girls classes!

Now I am working on a huge sunflower, much more fun and slightly more abstract.

I'm loving it and yes I have found this new time by staying off Facebook!

Pretty cool, djmom! For those who aren't familiar with the boat, here's a photo:

That's so funny! I was thinking "really??? It looks JUST LIKE Miss Vie's boat?!"
I can't imagine painting anything more fun than St. John. You did a great job. Enjoy yourself!
