cell phone reception

Post by snorkel queen »

Hello again. My request this time is what service providers work in STJ. I have Verizon and I know it doesn't work. I'm wondering if anyone has used one of those prepaid services like Trac-Phone and if so, which one. Thanks as usual for all your help.

AT&T's Go Phone is the one to get. It works great and the cost is low.

If you use AT&T, then service is included if you have a nationwide plan.

The towers from the BVI are more powerful in some areas so be careful that you are not roaming in the BVIs.

I had some calls last year that went through BVI towers but AT&T actually credited my account after I called and told them I made the calls on St. John. Can't guarantee that they would do that again, but i thought it was good of them to do it last year.

Virgin Mobile prepaid is cheap and works fine in town, but not really anywhere else on the island. No problems with roaming, though...

I have A T & T and it worked great but did roam in the BVI's so I didn't use it much....I really only have it with me for emergencies anyway...Otherwise it sits at the villa. Last year we had an emergency.
