A bigger Grande Bay

Post by Exit Zero »

An small interesting article in the online St John Source reports about the zoning hearing yesterday requesting more units and some commercial space with another change of zoning for the Grande Bay project on the Cruz Bay waterfront - no decision was reported.

It's almost like it's not an issue anymore. If they build it, apparently people will come. And not think twice. Not even notice. Eventually Sirenusa will be available. And people will ask what the fuss was all about.

A lot of people who like STJ today wouldn't have cared for it 25 years ago. And a lot of the people who fell in love with it it 25 years ago are saddened by it today. It's a different island now and it attracts a different visitor than it used to.

The battles's over. The money won. It's just a matter of playing it out now. As visitors, we can just sadly move on. For local people, it's a much more grave matter.
