We stayed at Trinidad Charlie's

Post by Joppa »

After 8 days at Cinnamon Bay we moved to Trinidad Charlie's Eco Cottages. We really liked it here a lot.
We would Love to go back when everything is in bloom.

This is the cottage we stayed in.

It was very beautiful here. Very lush and green.
Everyday I would walk out the door and find something I hadn't seen before.

(sorry about the frame here)This was outside our door, and Charlie had 68 and 72 up at his house. It was like a sign that we had found the right place.

My only regret...I never thought to get a picture of Charlie. He is a great guy and we really enjoyed our time with him. He gave me some seeds for Bird peppers that I will be starting soon. He was very excited to think of Bird peppers growing in NH. Charlie also gave us some of his hot sauce which is soooo good. The Pumpkin is my favorite!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience in a most different kind of "villa". Did it rain while you were there? Is there a kitchen?

Looks very peaceful... like a place for resting and restoring the mind... no worries there. Kind of wish I were brave enough to try it.
... no longer a stranger to paradise

If you don't mind, let me know who to talk to, as far as a rental...
Late night at work, blah-blah...
Pretty tired, but those photos keep me landing me on top of my feet.
Thanks, and always

I just love Charlie and Lina.
I would stay there and ask Charlie to help him make his pumpkin pepper sauce and have Lina give me a massage and in turn I would do pilates with them........:)

I love his hot sauces! Nothing else comes close for me. I love the original and the pumpkin. The zesty lime one is especially good on fish.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

pumpkin sauce

I buy several of the pumpkin sauces every time I visit. If you haven't had them... buy them, use them with burritos or quesadillas, so good :)

Just beautiful! How did you like it compared to Cinnamon? Had you stayed in a tent or cottage at Cinnamon? Also, it's hard to tell from some of the photos, but I assume all the rooms are screened? It looks so peaceful and like a true getaway! Thanks for sharing!

We Love Love Love the hot sauces...we could smell then cooking one day.

It did rain while we were there but only briefly and we didn't get wet.

There is a kitchen. It is where I was standing taking the inside pictures. For some reason I didn't take a picture of it. There was a dorm fridge. It had a little freezer that worked very well. We froze our camel packs in it every night. There was a four burner stove, no oven or grill, and of course a sink.

We had stayed in a tent at Cinnamon, and they are so different I don't think it would be fair to compare them. I will say that having hot water at Charlie's was really nice. So was sleeping on a bed, and having a refrigerator, and having privacy. Cinnamon had the sounds of the ocean and cold showers. We loved them both!!!
